Just Dashes At Las Vegas 2007
This year's show took up several acres of pavement. There was something here for each and every Mopar attendee, and the weather was beautiful.
The Fifth Annual Las Vegas Speedway Extravaganza!

For the last five years, during the early days of April, the Mopar faithful make their yearly pilgrimage to the city of Lost Wages. Just north of the strip, and right alongside Highway 15 is the beautiful Las Vegas Speedway. This is a state-of-the-art facility, hosting racing venues of all kinds each season. Usually there is also an unannounced but very cool impromptu air show going on across the street at Nellis Air Force Base.

The Just Dashes crew set up their display in the vendors area and were an official show sponsor this year. They debuted several exciting Mopar products, including their new '68-'70 B-Body dash pad with three gauge pods. It was an immediate hit!

The desert weather is still cool in April, so it was perfect for the drag racing portion of the show. Lots of racecars, lots of smoke and lots of tire shredding Mopar fun for the race fans. Some very serious racecars showed up for the tire shredding competition. Mopar enthusiasts are known for their love of racing and this year was no different. The War Fish, sponsored by JESEL, Inc. put on a dazzling show.

For the parts hounds, the swap meet was heaven. Lots of cars, and tons of parts for all years, makes and models of Chrysler products were lying everywhere. The guys at Just Dashes picked up a few small goodies, as well as a '70 Challenger R/T! Whoa, good trip. Direct Connection had their traveling road show in attendance and in the vendor area you could buy completely rebuilt, show detailed engines. How about a HEMI for only 17-thousand and change? Heck, we'll take two!

The show field was jammed with cars from all the surrounding states, and there were some outstanding examples of Thirties through Seventies models on display. There is never a lack of colorful vehicles at a Mopar show, and this was no exception.

Just Dashes' owner and CEO, Irwin Tessler was awarded an Official Show Sponsor Plaque. The folks at Just Dashes are dedicated Mopar enthusiasts, and take pride in providing he best interior restoration service available to Mopar owners.

The Cannery Hotel and Casino was once again the nighttime entertainment venue. The Fab 6 and the World Classic Rockers put on a rousing show that had the audience dancing in the aisles. If you love classic rock, this was the after dark place to be. So, if you missed the event this year, mark your calendar to be in Vegas for the 2008 bash.

This exceptionally detailed '71 Hemi 'Cuda was just spectacular and loaded with options. Big $$ sitting on blacktop! How about a '68 Dodge Dart Super Stocker looking like a concours show car? We love the look of the Max Wedge motors.

This blown Duster ran as fast as it looks. Nothing says race more than a blower blasting through the hood. There was an impressive line-up of B-bodies at this show. The Sublime Superbird, with matching NASCAR style gas can, was plenty cool.

The show area was full of stock and modified cars, some restored and some originals. It was a full day of looking at great examples of the Pentastar breed. Both Challengers and 'Cudas were in abundance. This white R/T 440, 4bbl. went home with the boys from Just Dashes. White over red is a great color combo.

Anyone for a 1957 Dodge Custom Lancer hardtop? Check out those way cool fins! This '70 Hemi 'Cuda is a Clone with an asking price of $110,000. Way to rich for our wallets, but still a nicely done car.

Let's talk swapmeet. The area was overflowing with parts and cars for sale. If you don't need the one on top, take the one on the bottom. Parts is parts and there were parts being parted with everywhere!

All the parts you needed to finish the Valiant on the trailer were laying on the ground somewhere! A little worse for wear, this 383cid Charger is ready for a complete resto. Need a winter project?

This red Plymouth ragtop would make a great driver. Maybe this interested guy took her home topless. How about $28,500 for a '71 'Cuda project car without an engine? Whew!

Here's the Just Dashes display in the vendor area early Friday morning. It was mid-morning before the crowd recovered from the night before. Here's the new B-body dash pad with gauge pods from Just Dashes! It takes any three 2 1/16-inch gauges of your choice. Brilliant!

The Just Dashes show crew was on hand to answer questions and take orders for Mopar interior restoration projects. The folks from Direct Connection were on hand in force. They had a huge display with several vintage and contemporary vehicles. It's nice to see the old "Direct Connection" logo back.

The gang from "Big Daddy" Roth had Mopar T-shirts that seemed to go on forever. We're still looking for the one that comes with medium shoulders and large middle. Oh well, maybe next year! Need a Hemi? There were quite a few show detailed engines of all sizes for sale in the vendor area. Maybe that '71 'Cuda project car got one of these as a re-birthday present.

Wheels-up action is always a crowd pleaser. These two colorful racers look like they're headed for a photo finish. Here's another early Barracuda heating up the hides.

Two early Barracuda racecars launch hard. The racing was great to watch, and since the grandstands are huge, there were plenty of shaded seats. The War Fish, sponsored by Jesel, Inc., is always a serious competitor. It looks nasty even standing still!

The Cannery Hotel & Casino was the spot to be in the evenings. Two classic rock bands entertained the Mopar crowd until late in the evening. As they say, "a good time was had by all".
