Cal Car Cover's 2008 Annual Bash
Vehicles of all descriptions showed up at the Cal Car Covers NSRA Appreciation Day car show this year in Chatsworth, CA. There was a sampling of weird to wonderful in the CCC parking lots and the side street adjacent to the business. With a temperature in the very high nineties, everyone was looking for shade, but it didn't stop several hundred nuts behind the wheel from showing up.
It seem that every year this show gets bigger and better, and is featured on KABC talk radio for those who couldn't attend in person. We walked the show field and photographed some of the cars so you could attend the event no matter where you live. Enjoy the heavy metal!

The event was covered by a local radio station set up in a booth outside the front door of Cal Car Covers. Callers could ask car questions and find out what was going on at the event.

Looking into the back parking lot of CCC from the street shows a full house with plenty of overflow vehicle. Cars were still pulling in at 11 AM.

Nothing like cruising your '62 T-Bird on a beautiful sunny CA Sunday. The wire wheels really look great on this body style.

It wouldn't be a car show without a blown dual-quad small-block. This sedan was in semi-gloss primer, or suede, and will probably stay that way.

A nicely done '32 Roadster painted up in racecar garb. Looks like 'ol number 397 to us.

How about a chopped and bagged PACKARD! It retained all the original gauges, etc. but with the hood closed the engine was a mystery.

This creation started as a Camaro, and evolved into ?? Bizarre, ridiculous and creative all come to mind, but regardless, this took a lot of work.

This mid-Sixties Chevy was really well done. The epitome of a full on show car, it also packed a serious power plant.

This pink '71 Challenger drop-top was probably the brightest color at the show. The interior and engine received the full custom treatment.

A custom lean, mean and lowered '69 GTO street machine in Carousel Red attracted a crowd.

There were only two GTO's at the show. This is an original owner black on black '65 Tri-Power four-speed Goat. It's unusual to find an original owner car after forty-three years.

The lawn in front of CCC was littered with iron of all types and colors.
