Using the funnel supplied, fill the glass jar about 3/4 full, and reattach it to the sprayer. You are using a PREVAL disposable sprayer and pressure refills are available almost anywhere.

Holding the sprayer about 8 to 10-inches from the object, and positioning the sprayer at about a 45-degree angle, begin spraying. Move quickly and evenly across the part for the first coat overlapping the spray pattern, and the the opposite way for the next coat, creating a cross hatch spray pattern. This is called the "Double Coat" method. Allow 15 minutes drying time between coats.

Move around the entire surface of the item to be recolored. When one side is dry, color the other side using the same technique. By moving quickly and evenly you will avoid runs in the material. Here's the before and after to demonstrate what a difference the "FADE AWAY" can make.

Prepping the hard plastic parts is the same as the vinyl. Liberally apply the Just Dashes Surface Prep cleaner to a small area and work it in with the brush. Again, use a clean cloth with plain water to wipe up the dirt.

After a thorough brushing, use the Surface Prep with Scotch pad to clean the surface again. There is no such thing as too clean when doing a professional job.

Using a clean cloth and clean water to wipe the surface is extremely important. It is also very important to allow the part to dry before coloring.

For multi-sided objects like this Mopar kick panel, be sure to clean all the visible areas. The wrap around end of this panel could easily be overlooked until it was too late.

After the panel is clean, Just Dashes adhesion promoter is sprayed on the plastic surface. This will give the dye a good surface to adhere to, preventing flaking or chipping.

Spray the adhesion promoter on all areas to be recolored, including the edges.

The hard plastic panel is now clean and ready for dye. Make sure the adhesion promoter is dry before spraying color.

With the panel clean and dry, you can now start to apply the color. Again, 8 to 10-inches away at a 45-degree angle with overlappling strokes. Unless you are changing color, two coats will usually do the job nicely. As during the cleaning process, be sure to spray color on all visible areas of the part including the edges that show.

Here are the finished parts ready for any show. Try experimenting on small parts like these before tackling door panels or seats. Familiarization with the sprayer and other products in the kit will make the larger jobs easier.
