JUST DASHES DOES MOPARS AT THE STRIP!
By Jim McGowan
What better place to hold an event for a group of Mopar enthusiasts than "SIN CITY". What's nastier than a dual-quad blown 440? What's dirtier than a 3.9 cut at the lights? What's more expensive than a grenaded Hemi in the traps? If it's not Monday… it must be LAS VEGAS!
The Southern Nevada Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge Dealers presented their 2004 MOPARS AT THE STRIP gala over the weekend of March 19-21, and it was a great event. JUST DASHES set up in the manufacturers midway with an all-new display of restored Mopar dashes, door panels and other concours quality interior parts.
The car show featured over 40 judged classes, a restored '66 Coronet was raffled off for worthwhile charities, the Hurst Hemi Under Glass made crowd cheering exhibition runs on it's farewell tour, and parts were available at a large swap meet. What Mo'par could you ask for? Several major enthusiast magazines covered the event, so keep your eyes peeled at the newsstand.
The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is right across the Freeway from Nellis Air Force base and the military activity is an air show in itself. If you want to show, race, buy or just be a Mopar spectator, the show at THE STRIP is the place to be. Here are some photos we took, so if you didn't make it you'll know what you missed. See ya there next year!

JUST DASHES set up a nice display of restored Mopar interior parts, mostly to acquaint those who had never experienced the craftsmanship and quality of their restorations.

We constructed specific hand made displays for several types of Mopar dash pads. There's nothing like seeing a product you need in person and being able to feel the foam and check out just how nice these restos really are.

The manufacturers midway area featured about 40 vendors displaying almost anything a Mopar fan could want or need. And if you preferred used parts, the swap meet areas had plenty to choose from.

Almost any kind of Mopar muscle car was represented in the judged show area. Some of the rarest of the rare showed up at THE STRIP.

Nothing like cruising to Vegas in a dual-quad blown '70 GTX. It sounded as nasty as it looks.

Ragtops are hot and this '69 Barracuda was really way cool. It was a big hit in the show car area.

How about a neat little Valiant race car? The lift-off hood and overall engineering made it an outstanding car.

This billboard Six-Pack 'Cuda in Plumb Crazy attracted lots of attention. It was for sale but we didn't have the courage to ask the price! There was no ambulance in sight.
