SPRING FLING '04
Just Dashes attends this year's Mopar madness in LA!
By Jim McGowan
Each year hundreds of cars and spectators flock to Woodley Park in LA's San Fernando Valley for the largest 2-day Mopar gathering on the left coast. Cars range from the thirties through modern, from restored to full-on race. Personalities like Landy and Leno are regular attendees, cruising the show field and chatting with other Mopar enthusiasts. The swap meet is a car builder's dream, with vendors arriving from all over the western states. Everything from Dusters, to door handles to dual-quads are waiting for a new home. The cars "For Sale" area held some inexpensive original gems as well as concours high-dollar convertibles. Just Dashes regularly attends this event with their large selection of Mopar vinyl restoration products and services. Many of the show cars had their interior parts restored at Just Dashes. The vendor area traffic was brisk, and as usual, the Just Dashes gang had a Mopar good time. See ya there next year!

How about a wild Coronet street machine? Every inch of this orange beauty was pristine. It's great to see the Fifties cars becoming popular subjects for resto and high modification.

This Plum Crazy Duster was an outstanding show quality street machine. The engine and interior were detailed to the max.

"Rat Rods" in "suede" are all the rage in '04. This dual-quad blown Hemi must be one hell of a ride on the street.

Another attractive and well done Fifties custom is this Cranbrook 2-door, which drew a lot of attention.

Jeff Tann's freshly finished '64 Super Stock replica sounded as nasty as it looks. Powered by a cross-ram 426 Max Wedge, it should run in the 10's.

Superchargers were everywhere, attesting to the theory that Mopar guys do race their cars, not just trailer them to car shows.

The Hemi Under Glass exhibition car brought back fond memories of the Sixties racing scene. This is a faithful replica of the original race car.

It was quite a feat getting that blown Hemi engineered into the back seat, and the car has been a crowd favorite for several decades.

This nice '71 'Cuda ragtop was priced at $34K. Lots of lookers but we don't know if it sold at that price. E-body converts are bringing ludicrous dollars.

One of the zillion General Lee replica cars was on display. It was a well-done clone and as usual, this partial to Mopar's crowd loved it.

Does this look like it means business or what? Dual-quads on cross-ram intake is the epitome of Sixties performance.

Another nice 'Cuda hardtop for sale. Green on green isn't the most popular combination, but the car was nicely done.

How about a chopped top Plymouth wagon street machine. Another reinforcement of the strength of 50's era Mopars for modification and cruising.

This 1936 Chrysler convertible was mobbed all day. It was a flawless restoration on a nice original car.
