Spring Fling 2006 was bigger and better than ever. More cars, more parts and more Mopar enthusiasts made the weekend of April 8/9, 2006 a rousing success. Even with a last minute location change (due to soggy ground) to the other side of the park, the show featured hundreds of cars and tons of our favorite stuff, parts. Just Dashes participated in the vendor area selling dash pads and taking orders for the restoration of other Mopar parts to be sent in after the show.
The Just Dashes staff cruised the grounds shooting all the photos you see here, including a stolen car bust, which is covered in the sidebar. Obviously, Da Fling has something to occupy everyone, even the police. If you're a Mopar fan, this is a must do event, see ya in '07!

This '71 'Cuda could be in your driveway for only $79,500. At that price you should have two! |
It's always handy to have good installation instruction before you start the restoration project. These are perfect!

Almost before the sun came up the crew from Just Dashes was awake and eating! The official Just Dashes Mopar parts car is parked behind the canopy.
|
Several street rods rumbled onto the show field and were a crowd pleaser among all the restored cars. |

You could be driving this Dodge 440 for a measly $8,500 and be well on your way to having a nice racecar. Bright yellow, just add Hemi. |
Lakes pipes, Caddy taillights and lots of custom touches made this pickup a stand out in the modified area. Lots of metal work on this collectible Dodge.

This dubbed out '70 Challenger is a work of art. Twenty inch wheels and Plumb Crazy paint says it all! |
The KING! Tor Red, Hemi and Daytona all in one poverty cap equipped package! Are we looking at 7-figures here? |

Due to soggy ground from lots of spring rains, the show was moved onto firmer ground, which was still soggy! But that didn't stop cars from several western states from showing up. |
Got a Hemi? Not quite, but this antique phaeton was very cool and one of the oldest vehicles in the show. Somehow it just didn't sound like a 440 Six-Pak. |

The parts for sale area was huge this year. You could just about find anything you needed, just bring lots of cash! This just might be the largest collection of parts for sale at any one time on the west coast. |

This '71 Hemi 'Cuda is an almost perfect example. There were a surprising number of original Hemi cars this year and a plethora of clones as well. |
Need a polished cross ram with original carbs and linkage? Just add money. |

This 440 Six-Pak Road Runner ragtop would be the car to keep, but the owner decided he could part with it. It was loaded and so was the price. Open air cruising demands big dollars. |
This owner is so proud of his three carbs that he engineered a plastic gizmo to hold up the air cleaner, just so you could check them out. |

A garden of freshly grown fenders decorated the end of the parts field. Just about every make, model and year was represented here, it was truly steel magnolias. |
This nice yellow '73 Barracuda was priced at a mere $32,000. Gentlemen, step right up! |

How about an early Dart cross ram street machine? Classic art deco lines and plenty of power and good "arrest me red" paint create a knock out cruiser!

Several months ago, a Mopar enthusiast experienced what we all fear, his car was stolen. It's a yellow '69 Road Runner that vanished into thin air. Being an avid Mopar man, he traveled to Van Nuys, CA to attend the Spring Fling 2006 event, obviously missing his car. Whoa, what's this, his car sitting on a tow dolly for sale? After a thorough inspection to verify it's his, he calls the police, they show up and bust the thieves on the spot. Yeah! There is some justice in the world, and obviously some very dumb thieves as well. Can you imagine, steal it, stash it and then take it out to the largest, most well attended Mopar show on the left coast to sell it!! They should be jailed just for their stupidity and using up our oxygen.

The police arrived and cuffed up the suspects, then cordoned off the area with crime tape. These alleged bad guys also have a bunch of Mopar parts for sale, which most likely ended up as confiscated evidence. Hopefully, after providing proof of ownership our man got his car back! |
After thoroughly questioning these people "of interest" the Road Runner was loaded on a legitimate flat bed and impounded as evidence. While not the most pleasant way to get back your car, at least the owner has the great satisfaction of nabbing the suspects himself. |
