Whether your dash pad is cracked,
torn, rusty or just plain "beat up," Just Dashes can
bring it back to the correct factory original specifications
through a process called Thermo Vacuum Forming. We
take your original pad and strip off the old vinyl
followed by the removal of all broken down, deteriorated
foam. We then build up the foam by hand with our new
and improved high-density closed cell foam to meet
all the correct contours and dimensions. The pad is
then covered with the correct grain vinyl, which a
higher quality then originally used. The application
of the vinyl is referred to as Thermo Vacuum Forming.
The vinyl is heated to become pliable and "sucked"
over the contours of the dash. The vinyl is then cooled
to set the shape and trimmed around the edges. Your
dash pad is then expertly matched to your chosen factory
or custom color. See our home page titled "How we
do it," for more information. Since we are using the
same vacuum process originally used by the factories
some thirty years ago, your dash pad will be as close
to the original as possible.

In most cases we can use your rusty,
vinyl cracked core unless it is severely bent or the
rust has completely eaten through the frame. We stock
cores for most popular applications, and if we do
not stock it, we may be able to locate one for you.
Please check with us if you feel you need a core.

satisfied with the quality of any product or restored

Parts can be returned for up to twelve (12) months

or materials.
Q:
A:
Just Dashes uses a closed cell
high density polyethylene foam in combination with
a thicker gauge (.045) vinyl that makes for a superior
quality part, better then the original. It will withstand
decades of harsh sun and blazing heat and will not
crack. The reason being is that the new closed cell
foam expands and contracts at the same rate as the
new vinyl, which is formulated with modern day UV
inhibitors. Original dash pad foam was porous and
open cell causing it to expand and contract with temperature
changes creating stress cracks when the surface of
the vinyl skin became brittle.
Q:
A:
Our vinyl is state-of-the-art,
more durable then the original, and we stock all the
correct grains for most applications. We can supply
any factory or custom color you might require, but
it's best to send a color sample with your dash pad
particularly if it's a custom color.
Q:
A:
Depending on the time of year a
typical restoration takes about five weeks to turn
around. We normally restore your original pad so we
do not have examples in stock.

Q:

We use only the finest quality
closed cell high-density foam as a foundation for
our award winning restorations. All our foam is hand
shaped for a perfect fit.
Q:
A:
If we are using your original dash
core for a restoration the dimensions are already
established. Our reproduction pads use the exact dimensions
taken from excellent factory examples. We can add
or delete speaker holes according to your needs.
Q:
A:
No, a reproduction takes the place
of your worn out original. The original must be removed
and the new pad installed. Installation is simply
the reverse of the removal process.
